Fire, Fire, Fire!

Finally!

We've been moved in now for close to a month and the firestove is now properly installed. When we checked the place out, our insurance guy told us (and the owner) that the pipes had to meet a certain standard in order for us to be eligable for house insurance. Well, weeks later...without the use of the stove while we waited, we can finally use it.

The pipes were installed last week, but with work and everything we could not properly enjoy it until this weekend. We took a tour of Peggy's Cove yesterday and went to the theater to catch a couple of movies. Today, we spent the day enjoying the stove and the heat that the fire puts out. The dog has just curled up right beside it and fell alseep for most of the day. I think if he could, he'd sleep right under the stove. It's been so hot in here, we had to bring fans into the room to circulate the heat throughout the house and not just in this room.

Anyway, peiinfo.ca just posted the results from their latest challenge for it's verson of survivor called, Cutthroat Island. We lost game 1, we won game 2 and just now I found out we won game 3. Later in the contest the teams will break apart and it'll be a free for all. It's an interesting way to play a game.

'Til later, Enjoy!

Ok, sometimes I'm wrong

Well earlier this fall (3 Sept 2005) I posted my prediction that the price of auto fuel would be double in price by winter. At that time, gas was hitting all time highs at $1.53 per litre. Happily, in the last few days my scrying has proven inacurate. Prices have slowly been falling and are now sitting around $0.899 per litre. It used to cost over $50 to fill the car when prices were high, and now it does not cost more than $44, that savings adds up fast when commuting over 60kms per day to and from work.

Sometimes it nice to be wrong about things. Enjoy!

We Remember

Today's Remeberance Day service was well attended by young and old. I'd estimate between 500-800 people at the local Legion's ceremonies. Of course the big event was in Halifax, but ours was closer to home and just as improtant to the local veterans.

It was great to see most of the people in attendance staying for a chat and some time to thank the veterans at this time of year. It is sad enough to hear the reminder that there are only five veterans remaining alive from WW I.

After your moment of silent rememberance, Thank a Veteran & Enjoy!

We'er In !!!

Well after some bumps and light brusing, we have arrvied boxes and all. We only lost a few items that the movers broke, otherwise the move went ok. Now we face a number of weeks worth of unpacking and slowly sorting where everything wil fit into our new home. Can't you just hear the cheering going onover that wounderful news?

Only five more courses before I can take a break for the holidays. That's if I don't get sent down to the USA to teach for two weeks. If I am approved for that trip, it'll be a great one. I'm interested in this one if I get it. Then it looks like I will have a three week vacation to enjoy things before the winter's courses.

Looks like I will have more regular access to post more often. Things are good again. Enjoy!
