Gas is not cheap

Well, there is an online website that helps keep track of fuel consuption, and where a consumer can find the cheapest prices around town each day. So nearly three months into the year, we have spent $586.49 during 12 fill-ups during the first 11 weeks of 2006. This adds up to an average cost of $0.99 c/L for the 592.389 Litres total we have bought so far.

I just can't beleive how much this is all costing. If the price every rises and stays above the $1.00 mark, life will get expensive all around.

Enjoy!

An active Sunday

Today has been more active than normal. First thing, I offered for us to try out the dog's new collar. It fits over his snout to guide him him along better vice a standard collar that leads him along around the neck, which chokes his airway off. He hates the collar around his nose and keeps trying to get it off. On the positive side, he responds better to coming along and does not struggle against it as much as a normal collar. Our walk around the neighbourhood took a little more than an hour.

We then headed out to see the RV show, but it was not what we thought it was and kept onward to one of the three weekend flea markets. I bought a mircowave for $15 for my classroom. It's 2nd hand and cheap, so if I leave it behind when I take a new job it does not bother me too much.

After the flea market, I shocked us by driving over to Point Pleasant Park and we walked the trails there too. WOW! I heard that much of the park had been damaged from a beetle infestation and from Hurrican Juan, but seeing it for myself was an eye opener. Still, the 1.5 hour walk was more than enjoyable.

After our walk in the park, I drove us to Halifax's waterfront for another 40min walk. We needed to get some answers on this year's fishing licenses from the tourism information centre and I was playing tour guide since she had not been to the waterfront for many years.

3 walks in one day, totaling over 3.5 hours??? Nobody will ever beleive it! *LOL* I have to admit, with the temperature hovering at 11 degrees out on a March day, it's hard to not want to head out to enjoy some sun.

On friday, I have tentativly passed my medical update on friday. If I pass the blood tests, then the rest of the medical is already approved. With those two items approved, then I am already approved for another year's work in my current job, so there is alot riding on this test. Noramlly I would not go in on my days off, but with everything waiting on this one 5 minute test it's worth the time to get it done and make sure I am getting the answers I want.

After getting home, we had all the windows open to air the place out. The house chores are complete and a fire has been started for the evening. I'm ready to enjoy a night curled up with everyone at home. The only drawback is that I have to fast again tonight for one more set of blood tests tomorrow morning.

I can feel it already, I'm getting sooooooo hungry *LOL* Have a great week and enjoy!

Working, Planning, Working, Waiting, Working

It's been awhile since I even thought I had something to post. Most of the time has been dedicated to work, planning the wedding, continuing to work, waiting for our summer vacation (we'er driving out to the west coast) and finally more work. That's the nice part about having things finally settled down and stable. The dull part is just that as well. Oh well, more interesting things will pop up as time carries on.
