New diggs and some relaxation

We arrived in our new place this past Friday (23 March), about 30Kilometers down the road. The sales representative who gave us the quote for the move did not take some things into account and this ended up costing us a few hundred extra dollars. After all the packing and almost half unpacked now, we are glad to have hired the moving company to load and unload all of our stuff.

Last night we were invited to a Meet & Greet with the neighbours on our road. There were about 20 people there and we were still the youngest couple there. For those that don't know, we are in our mid-30s.

As I mentioned, most of the unpacking is now complete, now we need to sort through some stuff and figure out where to put it. So far, we have been luck to only find two items that were broke during the move. Now I have the rest of this week to relax and my other half has two days to herself before we head back to our regular work schedual. The views of the lake from the living room and dinning room are stunning throughout the day.

Enjoy!

One week to some time off

This past week was "fast and furious" as someone mentioned. I instructed an AMF1 course without a second instructor and had to deal with contractor instuctors not showing up on time in the 2nd classroom full of students who needed the course. I was at the point of pulling my hair out. It all worked out and only two of the students ended up not passing the course.

This coming week should be a little better. I have to monitor two new ITs as they monitor two new instructors. Once those courses wrap up, it will be time for me to take two weeks off and help with our move.

Enjoy!

Packing and Fitness

Well the weekend storm was not as bad a predicted. I think the worst we had was some loud thunder in the middle of the night and that was it.

We picked some boxes up for free on Friday and finally started the packing today. I do not like being forced to have to move. Yuck. We've got 11boxes packed and about 90 more to go over the next few weeks.

I've been given six months to get my fitness up to standard. I'm happy to hear that I've got the support of my supervisors. They did not want to lose me and have taken steps to get me into shape.

That's how things are looking these days.
