Boxes, barrels, paper and more....
Over four weeks later after moving in and we'er still unpacking. I've spent the morning sorting through nine barrels worth of stuff....about half of it is junk and being thrown out. I'm still asking myself why I even had it moved here. At least the fire is keeping us warm and the dog is in his bed all happy curled up while we sort away.
We finally looked at the paperwork that came with the move and found out the bill came in at approximately $7700.00!!! This price tag does not include all the mandatory costs such as hotels, meals, reconnection fees and misc expenses that occurred due to the move. These costs were also covered on the claim, coming in at approximately $4000.00. So in total, the cost to the government for the move came in around $33.81 per Kilometer to move from PEI to our place outside of Halifax. At these prices I'd have tossed most of my stuff before moving if I had to pay for it myself.
Those are my thoughts for today. Were supposed to get flurries/snow for the next two days. 'Til later, Enjoy!
